Announcer

I came to the Lord in 1984, after being involved in secular radio for many years. A few months later, the Lord began burdening my heart about using my experience and talents to glorify Him. During this time, there was a couple in my church praying with me. They had a Vacation Bible School in their home and invited the local BBN area representative to come speak. After his presentation, Hank Crull shared a need for an announcer at BBN. I interviewed for the position in 1985, but was told that they didn’t need me. I was not surprised. I had listened to BBN and felt that my youth in the faith disqualified me.

After that interview, I was convinced more than ever that it was time to resign my position in secular radio. I took a step of faith and tendered my two week notice. After the first week, one of my pastors advised me to let BBN know that I had resigned. I then called the Operations Manager who appreciated my call and said he would get back to me. A few days later, I was called to begin serving the Lord as a Network Announcer of the Bible Broadcasting Network.

That was over 35 years ago. Today I still marvel at how the Lord uses BBN and allows me to be a part of what He is doing. Next to my salvation and marriage to my wonderful wife, Avis, my service at BBN has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience I’ve known. To God be the glory. Great things He hath done!
