A person in a burning building screams, \u201cSave me\u201d. Why do I need to be saved? \u00a0Because all are sinners, \u201cFor all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God\u201d (Romans 3:23) \u00a0We need a Savior. So when you asked Jesus Christ to come into your life he saved you from an eternal Hell.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:2em\">A<\/span><strong>Assurance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How do I know I am saved? \u00a0Salvation is not based on a feeling, though you may have experienced the joy of your sins forgiven when you became a child of God. \u00a0Your assurance is based on the Bible, God\u2019s promise book for you. Feelings may change, but His Word abides forever. When you were saved, God was knocking at the door of your heart. \u00a0You opened the door of your heart and invited Him to come in. \u00a0He took up residence in your life in the person of the Holy Spirit and will be with you until you step on Heavens shore. \u00a0Read I John 5:11-13.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:2em\">V<\/span><strong>Victory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Victory does not mean you will never sin again. \u00a0However, if you do sin, God now has a provision for you to get forgiveness. Sin does not cause you to lose your salvation, but you can lose your fellowship. To illustrate; when you did something wrong as a child, it did not mean you were no longer a child of your father. \u00a0However, you did lose your fellowship with your father until you confessed your wrong. When you confessed, your fellowship was restored. \u00a0\u201cIf we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:2em\">E<\/span><strong>Edify<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Edify&#8221; is a word that means to strengthen and build you up. As you daily read the Bible and memorize verses, you will grow spiritually. The Bible is your spiritual food for the soul, like pizza is physically food for the body. \u00a0Jesus said, \u201cI am the bread of life, he that comes to me will never hunger\u201d. (John 6:35)<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:2em\">D<\/span><strong>Direction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you were saved, the Holy Spirit came to live within you. He is the third person of the Trinity.\u00a0 He is that \u201cstill small voice\u201d.\u00a0 When you sin or do wrong, the Bible says He will be &#8220;grieved\u201d and convict you of sin.\u00a0 But when all is right He brings peace. He is also your teacher, to lead you into all truth and help you understand the Bible. Here are some verses to help you.
