There are 4 lessons in this course.

Lesson 1

What does Christianity say about ethics? This lesson looks at how ethics deals with moral values, with what’s right and wrong, and why Christian ethics forces us to accept or reject God’s moral obligations. This lesson also covers the presuppositions that Christian ethics uses.

Lesson 2

This lesson starts with looking at the Sermon on the Mount and the biblical ethics that we gather from Jesus teaching. It becomes clear that Christian ethics is opposed to philosophical ethics and situational ethics. We also examine the self focus of worldly ethical systems versus the character focus of God’s system. The lesson closes with showing us the truly unique characteristics of Christian Ethics.

Lesson 3

Where do we get our morality from? Personal experience, cultural norms, church standards? This lesson looks at the foundation of our ethics, the freedom from guilt and the eternality of God’s Laws. The teacher also looks more in-depth at some of the presuppositions that Christian ethics hold.

Lesson 4

What would Jesus do? This lesson looks at Christian ethics in the Lord’s Prayer and the Lord’s example. The teacher also looks at the different types of love found in the Bible and the source of our power to follow Jesus.
