The good news is easy to understand!

Admit you have sinned and realize God’s penalty is eternal separation from him.
“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death;” Romans 6:23a
“They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,” (ESV) 2 Thessalonians 1:9
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:” Revelation 21:8

Believe Jesus died and rose again to take away the penalty you deserve.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Confess your faith in Jesus alone to save you.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
