Description: This Course is taken from the book: The Gospel According to John, by G. Campbell Morgan. These twenty lessons make up a thorough study of the entire Gospel of John. G. Campbell Morgan was a Pastor in England during the time of Evg. D.L. Moody. Morgan pastored at the famous Westminster Chapel. He traveled extensively and spoke in conferences throughout the British Empire and the United States. He authored numerous commentaries. He went home to heaven in 1945.

Lesson 1

John 1:1-18. Introduction to the Gospel of John including John’s own account of his book from John 20:30-31.


Lesson 2

John 1:1-35. this lesson gives an overview of the book of John and we see John the Baptist and his place in the ministry of Jesus.


Lesson 3

John 1:35 - 2. This lesson looks at the call of the first disciples and the wedding at Cana. What was the first miracle of Jesus?


Lesson 4

John 3. This lesson looks at the encounter of Jesus and Nicodemus. What does it mean to be born again?


Lesson 5

John 4. Jesus talks to the Samaritan woman at the well and heals a nobleman’s son. Do we see and minister to the outcast like Jesus did?


Lesson 6

John 5-6:21. How did Jesus claim to be God? In this lesson Jesus shows himself to be equal with God as He does the work of God. Jesus also feeds the 5,000.


Lesson 7

John 6: 22 – 40. What does it mean that Jesus is the bread of life? This lesson looks at that claim and what it means.


Lesson 8

John 7: 1-36. What is the feast of Tabernacles? This lesson looks at Jesus teachings during the feast.


Lesson 9

John 7:37 - 8:30. Jesus claims to be able to quench man’s thirst with his life. He also gives light to the world. What does it mean to give light and living water?


Lesson 10

John 8:31 - 9:38. What did Jesus mean when he said “I Am”? This lesson looks at Jesus claims and the significance of his healing of a man born blind.


Lesson 11

John 9:39 – 10. This lesson looks at Jesus as the Good Shepherd and what Jesus meant when He said that He and the Father are one. What does it mean for Jesus to be a shepherd?


Lesson 12

John 11:1 – 53. This lesson looks at the death and resurrection of Lazarus. Why did Jesus weep over Lazarus death when Jesus was about to raise him from the dead?


Lesson 13

John 11:54 - 12:36. This lesson looks at the intensification of hostility against Jesus. What was the importance of the triumphal entry?


Lesson 14

John 12:37 – 13:20. What was the public result of Jesus ministry and signs? This lesson looks at the ministry of Christ and the washing of the disciples’ feet.


Lesson 15

John 13:21 – 14. Does Jesus foretelling of Peter’s denial cause Peter to fall? This lesson looks at the betrayal of Judas and Jesus' teaching on a new commandment, and His place as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.


Lesson 16

John 15 – 16. This lesson looks at the allegory of the vine and the importance of abiding in Christ. How do we abide in Christ?


Lesson 17

John 17 – 18:27. This lesson looks at the high priestly prayer of Jesus and the capture of Jesus. Did Jesus pray for us?


Lesson 18

John 18:28 – 19:30. This lesson looks at the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.


Lesson 19

John 19:31 - 20:18. The burial and Resurrection of Christ.


Lesson 20

John 20:19 – 21. The sightings and last days of Jesus before going to Heaven.
