Bob Dowie was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1927 and was saved at the age of 19. Despite the fact that he had no schooling beyond the sixth grade, Bob had a passion for preaching the Bible. He was asked to teach at New Brunswick Bible Institute, where he served in many areas for 38 years. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Trinity College, which recognized his ministry as an evangelist, musician and teacher. Bob Dowie went home to Heaven in 1996, while on a morning jog.
